When a reward is taken back
Attribution and reviewA referral reward can be reversed if the referral is later found not to be genuine.
Referral storage can be removed after it is granted when the referral should not have qualified.
When it happens
- The referred account turns out to be a duplicate of the referrer.
- The account was created to farm rewards rather than to use the service.
- The referred account is closed or disabled for abuse.
- The qualifying email verification is found to have been manufactured for the purpose.
What happens when a reward is reversed
The referral storage is removed. If that puts your library over quota, existing files stay available and new transfers are blocked until you free enough space.
Note: A genuine referral is not clawed back simply because the invited person later stops using gettor. In that case, the grant expires normally.
