Which link gets the credit

Attribution and review

Which link gets the credit; Why an invite is held for review.

Attribution is first-touch. The first referral link someone opens gets credit for 90 days and is not replaced by later referral links.

Attribution rules

  • First link wins, held for 90 days.
  • A person can be referred only once. Existing accounts cannot be assigned to a referral later.
  • Self-referrals are blocked. You cannot refer yourself using another email address.
  • Sign-ups from the same network as the referrer are held for review instead of receiving the reward immediately.

Note: If someone signs up without your referral link, the referral cannot be added afterward.

Why an invite is held for review

Same-network referrals are reviewed before rewards are granted.

When a referred account is created from the same network as the referrer, the reward is held for review.

Why

Same-network review helps prevent self-referral and reward farming.

Legitimate cases

Legitimate household, roommate, or workplace referrals may share a network. These are reviewed rather than automatically rejected.

Note: gettor stores the sign-up network address and a one-way hash of it to help detect referral abuse. The hash cannot be converted back into the original address.
