Downloading a file

Downloading

Downloading a file; Resuming an interrupted download.

Use Download on a file row. The download starts in your browser; no extra app is required.

What happens before the bytes move

Before a download starts, gettor checks file access, your remaining monthly allowance, available download slots, and account status.

The download link works only for that file and action. It cannot sign you in or access anything else.

When access changes

Download access is checked on every request. Deleting a file, a takedown, or disabling the account immediately stops outstanding links.

What it counts against

Downloads count toward your monthly downloads-and-streaming allowance. Downloading the same file again counts again.

Note: Files do not have public download links. Access is tied to your account.

Resuming an interrupted download

Interrupted downloads can resume instead of starting over.

If a download stops, a modern browser or download manager can resume from where it left off.

Why it works

Range requests let your browser resume only the missing part of a file. The player uses the same mechanism for seeking.

If the link expired while it was paused

Download links expire quickly. If resume is refused, start the download again from your library to get a fresh link; your browser or download manager can still resume from the saved progress.

Tip: Only bytes actually delivered are counted, so resuming a partial download uses allowance only for the remaining data.
