Can I close the browser while a transfer runs?

Managing transfers

Can I close the browser while a transfer runs?; Why a transfer sits in “Queued”.

You can close the tab or disconnect your device while a transfer runs. Torrent traffic continues on gettor's servers.

What the dashboard is actually doing

Closing the page stops live progress updates, not the transfer.

If the list says “Reconnecting…”

“Reconnecting…” means the dashboard's live connection was interrupted. Transfers continue and the displayed numbers catch up after reconnection.

Tip: Turn on transfer-complete email notifications in Account if you do not want to keep the dashboard open.

What does need you

Downloading finished files to your device uses your connection. Those downloads stop if the browser closes, but they can be resumed.

Why a transfer sits in “Queued”

Your plan limits how many transfers can run at once. Extra transfers wait automatically.

Each plan has a transfer-concurrency limit. Extra transfers keep their order and start automatically as slots become available.

Queued vs Waiting for capacity

Queued means your plan's transfer slots are full. Waiting for capacity means gettor's shared transfer capacity is full. Both resolve automatically.

Note: A waiting transfer does not use allowance until data starts moving.
