When a torrent is too big for your plan
When a transfer failsWhen a torrent is too big for your plan; “This torrent is already in your queue”.
As soon as the torrent size is known, gettor checks both limits before downloading content.
The largest-torrent limit
Each plan limits the size of a single torrent separately from total storage.
| Plan | Largest single torrent | Total storage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 GB | 2 GB |
| Lite | 10 GB | 15 GB |
| Plus | 20 GB | 40 GB |
| Pro | 50 GB | 80 GB |
The storage you have left
The torrent must also fit in your remaining storage. A torrent can be within the single-torrent limit and still fail if there is not enough free space.
Not enough storage left on the plan for this torrent. Free up space or upgrade.
What to do
- Delete files you no longer need to free storage immediately.
- Move to a larger plan, which raises both limits at once.
- If the torrent lets you, fetch a smaller selection of its files rather than all of them.
Note: A torrent rejected on size does not use allowance because the check happens before content is downloaded.
“This torrent is already in your queue”
The same torrent cannot be added again while an active copy is already in your queue.
gettor identifies torrents by their hash, so different magnet links that point to the same torrent are treated as duplicates.
This torrent is already in your queue.
Why this is enforced
Blocking duplicate active transfers prevents the same torrent from using multiple transfer slots and creating duplicate work.
Adding it again later
You can add the same torrent again after the previous transfer has completed, failed, or been cancelled.
Note: A transfer may briefly wait if another account is already fetching the identical torrent. This handoff does not use your allowance while you wait.
