Reading the status page
Signs of an outageReading the status page; When transfers stop starting.
The status page is the first thing to check when something behaves oddly across the whole service rather than on one transfer.
| Indicator | Tells you |
|---|---|
| Site | Whether the site is online |
| Accounts and libraries | Whether sign-in and library data are available |
| Transfer processing | Whether new transfers can start |
| Transfer demand | How many transfers are running and how many are waiting |
| Maintenance | Whether a site-wide notice is set |
| New transfers | Whether transfers are accepted right now |
| Downloads | Whether delivery is paused |
| Playback | Whether streaming is paused |
| Sign-ups | Whether registration is open |
The three summaries
- “Everything is running.” — nothing is paused or degraded.
- “Some parts are paused or degraded.” — read the indicators below it.
- “Status details are unavailable right now.” — the status check could not be completed.
Note: A long waiting list is not always an outage. It can simply mean gettor is busy, which is what Waiting for capacity reflects on an individual transfer.
When transfers stop starting
New transfers wait instead of starting. Your library, downloads and playback are unaffected.
If transfer processing is paused or unavailable, new transfers wait instead of starting.
What you would see
- New transfers stay in Queued and never reach Starting.
- The status page shows transfer processing as paused or unavailable.
- Existing files, downloads and playback all behave normally.
What to do
Wait. Transfers keep their place and start when processing resumes. Cancelling and re-adding only moves them to the back.
Note: A transfer may briefly return to Starting while gettor recovers it. That is recovery, not a restart from zero.
