When a reward is taken back

Attribution and review

A grant is reversed if the referral turns out not to have been genuine.

Earned storage can be withdrawn after it has been granted. This is not a penalty applied casually — it covers the cases where the grant should never have been made.

When it happens

  • The referred account turns out to be a duplicate of the referrer.
  • The account was created to farm rewards rather than to use the service.
  • The referred account is closed or disabled for abuse.
  • The qualifying transfer is found to have been manufactured for the purpose.

What a clawback does

The extra storage is removed. If that puts your library over its limit, nothing is deleted — you go over quota and cannot add new transfers until you are back under.

Note: Genuine referrals are not clawed back because the person you invited stopped using gettor. That is the grant running down naturally, which is a different thing.
