Sending a copyright notice

Copyright and takedowns

Six required elements, sent to the abuse address rather than to support.

If your material is in someone’s gettor library without permission, send a notice to the abuse address. The copyright page lists the six elements it must contain, and a notice missing one cannot be acted on.

What to include

  • Identification of the work you hold rights in.
  • Identification of the material you say infringes it, specifically enough to find.
  • Your contact details.
  • A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorised.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act.
  • Your signature, physical or electronic.

Note: You can also choose Copyright and abuse in the contact form.
