Cookies and tracking

Privacy

Cookies and tracking; Getting a copy of your data, or deleting it.

gettor sets one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in, which lasts 30 days. That is the whole of it.

Google reCAPTCHA, used for the bot check on sign-in, sign-up and the contact form, sets its own. It is the only third-party script on the site.

What is not here

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No third-party analytics trackers.
  • No marketing pixels or social embeds.

Note: This is also why there is no cookie-consent banner. There is nothing optional to consent to beyond what the site needs to work.

Getting a copy of your data, or deleting it

Closing your account deletes the library after 30 days; a data request goes to support.

If you are in the EU or UK you have rights of access, correction, erasure, portability and objection. They are exercised by writing to support from the account’s email address.

Deleting everything

Closing your account is the direct route. The library is deleted after 30 days, and account data goes with it. Invoices survive where tax law requires them to.

Getting a copy first

Download what you want to keep before closing. A closure is not reversible once the deletion runs, and support cannot recover a deleted library.

Note: Transfers to Google are covered by standard contractual clauses. The servers and file storage themselves are in Germany.
