How long files are kept
Retention and expirySeven days on Free. No expiry on a paid plan while the subscription is active.
On the Free plan a completed file is kept for 7 days from when it lands in your library, then expires. On a paid plan files have no expiry at all while the subscription is active.
What happens when a paid plan ends
| How it ended | What happens to files that had no expiry |
|---|---|
| You cancelled | The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then 3 days of recovery. |
| A renewal payment failed | 3 days of paid access, then Free, then 2 further days of recovery. |
| You moved to a smaller plan | 3 days before they expire. |
Free download limits apply during a recovery window — it is time to retrieve what matters, not a continuation of the paid plan.
Renewing during a recovery window
Resubscribing keeps the files that have not expired yet. It cannot restore anything that already expired or was deleted — once a file is gone there is no copy of it anywhere.
Careful: A file that already carried an expiry date keeps it. Upgrading removes the expiry from files that survive; it does not resurrect ones that did not.
