Neither one refuses you
Going past the transfer limit makes the extras wait rather than rejecting them; they start automatically as slots free. Going past the download limit asks you to wait for one to finish. In neither case is anything lost.
Tip: On a plan with one download slot, a folder ZIP is the efficient way to take several files — one slot, one download, one thing to resume.
When your monthly allowance resets
Your own monthly anniversary, including monthly allowances on annual plans.
Your allowance starts on your signup anniversary, then follows your subscription anniversary after joining a paid plan. Annual plans receive a new allowance each month. A shorter month uses its last day, then returns to your original day in longer months. Downgrading keeps the current allowance cycle. The welcome offer has one total allowance for the whole welcome period, without refills.
Why not the first of the month
A calendar reset means every account on the service refills at the same midnight, which produces a spike gettor would have to build capacity for and nobody would benefit from. Staggering the periods across accounts keeps delivery even.
Where to see your date
The account page shows both usage meters with the period they belong to. The message you get when an allowance runs out names the reset explicitly: “see Usage for your next monthly reset.”
Note: The reset is applied when your account is next used rather than by a job that sweeps every account at once. If a meter looks stale by a few minutes after the boundary, opening the page settles it.
