When your library is over its storage limit
StorageEverything stays and stays downloadable. New transfers are blocked until you are back under.
A library can end up over its limit without you doing anything wrong — the usual cause is moving to a smaller plan while holding more than the new plan allows. The library shows an amber banner when this happens.
What still works
- Every file stays where it is. Nothing is deleted for being over the limit.
- Downloads and playback carry on normally.
- Renaming, moving and organising are unaffected.
What stops
New transfers. You cannot add storage while you are over the limit, so a new transfer is refused until you delete enough to be back under it — or move to a plan that fits what you have.
Note: This is deliberate. Deleting someone’s files because their plan got smaller would be the wrong trade, so gettor blocks growth instead.
