- Open the folder you want the new one to live inside.
- Click New folder.
- Type a name and confirm.
The folder appears immediately and can be opened, renamed, moved or deleted like any other.
Note: Folders cost nothing against your storage. Only the bytes of actual files are counted.
Renaming a file or folder
Renaming changes the name only — links, playback and downloads all continue to work.
Use the pencil action on a row, type the new name, and confirm. Torrents frequently produce names nobody would choose, so this is worth doing early.
Keep the extension
gettor decides whether a file can play in the browser from its type, and the extension is part of how that type was determined when the file was stored. Renaming a .mkv to .mp4 does not convert anything — it only makes the name misleading.
Note: Renaming does not move the file, does not change its size, and does not affect a download that is already running.
