What gettor is, and what it is not
What gettor isWhat gettor is, and what it is not; How gettor works, end to end.
gettor fetches torrents on its own servers and puts the finished files in a private library you can download or play from any browser. You do not install anything, and you do not leave a machine running.
What it is
- A remote downloader: you give it a magnet link or a .torrent file, and its servers do the fetching.
- A private library: finished files are stored per account and are never shared or public.
- A browser tool: downloading, organising and playing all happen on a web page.
What it is not
It is not a search engine, an index, or a catalogue. gettor does not offer content, suggest content, or help you find any. Every transfer starts from a link that you supply, and we do not choose what you fetch.
It is also not a public file host, a CDN, or a way to distribute files to other people. Your library is private and it is meant to stay that way — there are no share links, by design.
Note: Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. A cloud library is a convenience, not a backup.
How gettor works, end to end
Three steps: you add a link, gettor’s servers fetch it, the files land in your library.
There are three steps between a magnet link and a finished file.
1. You add
Paste a magnet link or upload a .torrent file on the dashboard. gettor checks it against your plan and starts it when capacity is available.
2. gettor fetches
gettor reads the torrent, downloads the content remotely, then saves the finished files into your library. You can watch live progress or close the tab and come back.
3. You use
Finished files appear in your private library. From there you download them individually, take a whole folder as a ZIP, or play supported media directly in the browser with seeking.
What your connection actually carries
Only the last step. The torrent traffic is between gettor’s servers and the swarm; your connection is used when you pull a finished file down, and not before.
