Changing your plan
Changing planChanging your plan; What happens when you move to a smaller plan.
Plans are changed from your account page. Every limit moves together — storage, torrent size, the monthly downloads-and-streaming allowance and both concurrency caps.
Moving up
- The new limits apply immediately.
- Files that carried an expiry date because you were on Free lose it, provided they have not already expired.
- A transfer blocked for space or size can be retried straight away.
Moving down
The smaller limits apply, and if your library holds more than the new plan allows it goes over quota — everything stays and stays downloadable, but nothing new can be added until you are back under. Retention changes too; see the next article.
Careful: Plan changes are unavailable until paid plans open.
What happens when you move to a smaller plan
Files that had no expiry get 3 days before they expire. Nothing is deleted on the spot.
Moving down is designed so that nothing disappears the moment you click it.
Storage
If your library is larger than the new plan allows, it simply sits over quota. Everything remains and remains downloadable; you cannot add anything new until you delete enough to fit.
Retention
Files that had no expiry date — because a paid plan gave them none — are given 3 days before they expire. That window exists so you can retrieve what matters.
A file that already carried an expiry date keeps the one it had. It is not extended and it is not shortened.
Changing your mind
Resubscribing inside the window keeps every file that has not yet expired. It cannot bring back one that has.
