Seeing where you are signed in
Sessions and devicesSeeing where you are signed in; Signing out everywhere.
Where you are signed in lists each active session on your account, with the one you are currently using marked This device. Each row can be revoked on its own.
What to do with it
- Ending a session on a shared or borrowed computer you forgot to sign out of.
- Checking whether anything is signed in that you do not recognise.
- Clearing out old sessions from devices you no longer have.
How long a session lasts
Sessions last 30 days. After that you sign in again — and if a session is revoked here, the device using it is signed out the next time it makes a request.
Careful: If you see a session you cannot account for, use Sign out everywhere and then change your password, in that order.
Signing out everywhere
Ends every session on the account at once, including the one you are using.
Sign out everywhere is the blunt instrument, and it is on your account page. Every session ends, on every device, including the browser you click it in.
When to use it
- You think someone else has access.
- You have lost a device that was signed in.
- You want a clean slate and cannot be bothered to revoke sessions one at a time.
What it does to downloads in progress
Delivery links are re-checked on every request, so a download or a playback stream running under a revoked session stops rather than continuing to completion.
Tip: Pair it with a password change. Signing out everywhere ends current access; changing the password is what stops it being re-established.
