“Email me when a transfer finishes” is on your account page and is the only notification you can turn on or off. It is genuinely useful on long transfers, because it means you never have to keep checking.
What gettor sends regardless
- Confirm your gettor email — at sign-up.
- Reset your gettor password — when you ask for one.
- Content removed from your gettor library — after a valid takedown.
- Earned-storage notices, if you use referrals.
Note: There is no marketing mail, no newsletter, and no third-party analytics anywhere on the service. These messages are the whole of it.
Changing your display name
A cosmetic label on your account, changed from the account page.
Your display name appears in the app and in nothing else. It is not a username — you sign in with your email address — and it is not visible to anyone but you, because there is nobody else to see it.
Note: Changing your email address is a separate matter and affects sign-in and verification. Contact support if you need it changed.
