If you lose your authenticator
Two-factorUse a recovery code. Without one and without the app, the account cannot be recovered.
At the two-factor prompt you can enter one of your eight recovery codes instead of a six-digit code. It works once, and it signs you in.
- Sign in with a recovery code.
- Turn two-factor off in the security section.
- Set it up again on your new device, and save the new recovery codes.
If you have no recovery codes either
Then the account cannot be recovered. gettor cannot bypass two-factor on request — an account recovery that support can perform is an account recovery an attacker can request, which would make the feature worse than useless.
Careful: Before changing phones, either move the authenticator across or turn two-factor off and back on afterwards. It is much easier than dealing with it after the fact.
